Working in the community to tackle child obesity and informing both children and parents of the importance to stay healthy and active.
FITGEN is an organisation focusing on educating and building a healthier future generation. Child obesity has became a huge problem not only in the UK but across the world. At FITGEN we believe that by educating younger generations of the importance of staying fit, healthy, active and eating the correct foods and also the dangers of obesity and the problems that can be caused by following an unhealthy lifestyle. By providing both parents and children with this background of knowledge we believe it will have a massive impact and allow for better choices to be made when doing that weekly shop or taking an hour out to play a games console rather than getting out and getting active.
We are determined to not only educate the younger generations of the importance to stay fit and healthy but to impact there lifestyles in the long run and leave them in a position to educate there pears, parents and future generations further. By teaching them the core of a healthy lifestyle at a young age can lead to so much more in times to come. Prevention is the best form of defense against obesity.
Obesity is a greater burden on the UK’s economy than armed violence, war and terrorism, costing the country nearly £47bn a year, a report has found.
The World Health Organization (WHO) regards childhood obesity as one of the most serious global public health challenges for the 21st century. Obese children and adolescents are at an increased risk of developing various health problems, and are also more likely to become obese adults.
